There are so many reasons why I love my day at the gallery!
For those of you who don't know, I am a part of Carolyn Seiler & Friends is an Artist Co-op in Cocoa Village Florida. Carolyn Seiler is committed to providing a happy shop where artists can do what they love and sell their work with the support of other local artists. We have around 17 local artists in the gallery right now. I could go on and on about her mentorship and support over the last 6 years, but I will save that for another blog post!
Here is how being a part of her co-op works for me... I rent the space that I display my art in, I share the cost of supplies and utilities with the other artists and I work one, 5 hour shift on the desk/running the shop per week. My shift happens to be on Sundays. In the slower seasons (like now) we only have one shift on Sundays... Mine :) I love it!
As most of you know, I went full time as an artist when Amelia was born in order to stay home with her and then Elliott...
so I work from home.. We have attempted to make my studio in the garage and give me a place to work, but I feel too "far" from the, shall we say, "curious and inventive" nature of my kids?!
So on Sunday, I load up my little car with everything that I was unable to complete at "Happy House Studio" and head to the gallery!
I try to get there earlier than my shift so I can unload and get set up for the day before my opening time of 11am!
The time I spend in this happy little store is 100% quality! It is a place to gather with friends, to gather inspiration, to gather my thoughts and head in to a new week focused on my goals and ready to create new things! If you are local, or even if you are only in town for a few days, I would encourage you to stop by the gallery and be inspired! Grab a coffee from Ossorios or a donut from Sugar Shack and come pull up a chair on a Sunday and we'll spend some time inspiring each other!
Thanks for following along! How is your Summer going so far? Please feel free to comment below!
Creatively yours.
